毎年 International Shinto Foundation (http://isf753.org/form753.php)がニューヨークのJapan Societyさんと一緒にやっている七五三の2018年の応募要項がアップデートされました。2018年の七五三は、10月20日(土)と10月21日(日)に行われ、予約はInternational Shinto Foundationのウェブサイトで9月15日に開始されるとのことです。毎年、すぐに予約でいっぱいになってしまうので、興味がある方は早めに予約した方がよいです。
七五三は、毎年11月15日前後に子供の成長をお祝いする儀式で、男の子は数え年（お正月を基準にした年）で3歳と5歳（満2歳と満4歳になる年）、女の子は数え年で3歳と7歳（満2歳と満6歳になる年）に行うそうですが、最近は数え年や満年齢などは関係なく、男の子も女の子も、3歳から7歳の子どもはいつでも参加しているようですので、参加する子供の年齢制限などは特にないそうです。

Celebrate the growth and good health of children ages 3, 5 and 7 through the Shinto ritual of Shichi-go-san (seven-five-three). Three and five-year-old boys and three and seven-year-old girls of all backgrounds are invited to participate in this traditional celebration with their parents.

あと、ニューヨークで子供の七五三の着物レンタルと着付けをしてくれるサービスを提供しているという業者さんも見つけました。他にも着物レンタルをしている業者さんはたくさんあるので、子供用の着物がない人はレンタル業者も一緒にさがすと良いかと思います。
